President Barack Obama has come out with a new program that allows single mothers to go back to school. The maximum grant available was just raised to over five thousand dollars. These are more like grants; these do not need to be repaid like normal student loans. Many single moms out there can’t get a good education because they are stuck raising a child and getting a low paying job. This program can help them get the education they need to get a better job and rise up the corporate ladder.
Online degrees are a great option for moms who have to stay at home and take care of their child. Online degrees offer moms a way to go to college but at their own pace. Some people are faster learners than others, but others don’t have time to commit hours at a time to their schooling. Online schooling lets you do it in pieces and in multiple shifts. Some online degrees are accelerated if you can spend time, and you can end up getting an associates or even bachelors in a shorter time than traditional colleges. Online degrees also offer up just about any degree you are looking for. Online degrees are still taught by experienced professors, and some people like the anonymity that the online environment gives. If you have ever been in a class setting, you know there are a bunch of shy people who don’t want to talk, but can easily open up on the computer.
Obama’s program for moms allows them to do this, and they can do this easily with the extra money they will be getting. This nineteen billion dollar program will put more people in college and increase jobs in the future. The application is very easy to fill out, but be warned. If you make a mistake on the application anywhere, you will be rejected.
There are many scams on the internet, and of course, there are people trying to scam you into giving your information to a website and in return they will give you your scholarship. Sadly, this will not work, and many things can arise from this such as identity theft or someone using your credit cards. This program has no fees, many scholarship programs scams will offer fees and are a usual negative signal.

Although homeschooling has become increasingly popular in recent years, there’s still a lot of confusion and misunderstanding that surround it. As a result, many parents have questions about exactly what homeschooling is and how it is conducted, and this article will help answer some of the most common questions that are asked about homeschooling.

    1. What is homeschooling?

Homeschooling is a process where parents take charge of the education of their own children, completely substituting the educational curriculum used by public and private schools. The reasons for choosing homeschooling as a substitute can be many including having better control over the content of their children’s education, being able to better match the speed and pace of learning to each child’s ability, better promotion of the parent-child bond as their children grow older, and concerns over their children’s safety in the public school system.

    2. What kind of people homeschool their children?

The answer to that question is that people from all walks of life with varied abilities, backgrounds, and circumstances all have been successful in homeschooling their children. This means that it doesn’t matter whether you live in a city or on a farm, whether you only have one child or ten, whether it’s a single or two-parent family, whether you are religious or not, there are those who have similar circumstances that are successfully homeschooling their children.

    3. Is homeschooling legal?

Yes, homeschooling is legal in every state in the US, although there are laws regulating homeschooling that can vary significantly from one state to the next, so before you decide to homeschool your children, be sure to check on the requirements for homeschooling in the state where you live first.

    4. What educational requirements are there for parents to homeschool their children?

In most cases, all that is required is that you be able to read, write, and perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. You can always upgrade your own education as you go if more is needed. But be sure to check on the particular requirements of the state where you live before you begin.

    5. Where can we find homeschooling books and curriculums?

There are actually lots of places to get the home school materials that you will need including books, worksheets, and so forth. The internet is a great place to find the materials you will need at the lowest cost possible. You can even find used homeschool books and materials online at eBay and Amazon. You also may be able to find some of these materials locally at small bookstores and garage sales.

Whether or not to homeschool your children is a decision that is not to be taken lightly, and hopefully some of the answers we have provided here in this article to the most commonly asked homeschooling questions will help you be able to determine if homeschooling is right for you and your children.

Everyone knows the history of Bill Gates how he became the richest man in America and the of the world. But he started from no where. We often see in American culture, how rich people forget about the poor once they become rich. But Bill Gates is not one of them. He has given a significant amount of money that he earns back to the noble causes in society. One such cause is education of the underprivileged.
Bill gates along with his wife Melinda Gates have found a joint Melinda and Bill Gates foundation. This foundation gives many different scholarships to the needy students under the Bill Gates Scholarships. They mostly help out the students from low income families of different ethnic groups like Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics and Asian and Pacific Islanders. There are many different ways they fund for education of the minorities. They give donations to the historically black colleges and other organizations which gives scholarships to minority students.
In addition to providing funds to other organizations they have their own scholarship program, the Gates Millennium Scholars Program popularly known as Bill Gates scholarships. They give such students Gates Millenium scholarship with a good academic background but it is does not have very strict norms like other scholarships and grants. Even a grade point of 3.3 will make you eligible for this scholarship; some programs may require only a GED or a Bachelors’ degree in case of graduate students.
You do not necessarily have to be a US national. Even Permanent residents can apply for the Bill Gates scholarship program. This scholarship is aimed to help students from minorities to enter fields like Science, Math, Technology, Engineering and Medicine.
The Scholarship awards differ depending on the program each student is applying for. But you can expect a few thousand dollars. On an average an undergrad student gets $7000 a year and a grad student get $15000 a year. It may not suffice to pay for the college education for many students. But still the amount will pay off a large chunk of your tuition fees. That is why it is important that you do apply for Gates foundation grants.
In addition to this scholarship if you can supplement your expenses with a college on campus job or get another scholarship that would pay for your college education and you will be having no student loans after your graduation and peace of mind when studying.

For college students, November and December are filled with research projects and final exams. For recent graduates, however, these months can be exceptionally stressful, especially if a post-graduation dream job hasnt materialized on schedule. For graduates who left school with debt from student loans, November and December can be a month of reckoning.

Government-issued federal student loans and many non-federal private student loans grant students a six-month grace period after they leave school before they need to begin making loan payments. For students who graduated in May and June, then, those college loans come up for repayment in November and December.

And if youre a graduate whos caught up in the current recession and the highest unemployment rate on record for new college graduates, you may be getting your first student loan bill having no idea how youre going to make the payment.

Just ignoring those student loan bills isnt going to help. Defaulting on a federal student loan is no light matter. The government can step in and garnish your wages, once you get a job, or seize any income tax refunds you may have coming to you in order to put money toward your student loan debt.

Both federal and private student loans are nearly impossible to discharge in bankruptcy, so your student loan lenders can keep coming after you for payment, even if a judge declares you bankrupt and wipes out your other debts.

All your student loan accounts appear on your credit report, so your credit rating is also at risk. Repeated late and missed payments on your student loans will drop your credit score, will linger on your credit history for years, and can have a lasting impact on your ability later on to qualify for anything that requires a credit check. You may not be able to get a credit card, take out a car loan or home loan, rent an apartment, or even get a job — more and more employers are conducting credit checks on job candidates as a measure of your responsibility and maturity.

Clearly, keeping your student loans current needs to be a priority, for the sake of your credit and the health of your financial future. Whether youre a newly minted college graduate or a longtime borrower whos now having some financial troubles, if youre facing student loan payments that you cant afford, here are five ways to get help now.

    1. Contact your student loan lenders. Whether youre approaching the end of your grace period or youre already in repayment, if you know that you dont have the ability to make the payments on your student loans, contact your lenders immediately, explain your situation, and see what they can do to help.

For your federal student loans, the U.S. Department of Education can grant you additional periods of deferment or forbearance if youre facing financial hardship. With a government-approved deferment or forbearance, your student loan payments are postponed, with no adverse effect on your credit.

Have student loans been a major headache for you lately? It’s no wonder since the average student has more than $8,000 dollars in student loan debt. It’s been shown that a greater than 40 percent of all college graduates have debts in excess of ten thousand dollars. Some of the college graduates that we polled reported that they owed even greater amounts of debt than the majority of college graduates.

It’s important to remember that a college education can be expensive. Students must pay for books, supplies and other preparatory materials in addition to their tuition. Students need to also pay for their lifestyle, such as, clothing, food and their rent. It’s also important to remember that school will take a large portion of your time, so some of them won’t be able to work part time. This increases the strain on many students making it difficult to concentrate on their studies.

So instead, many college students end up taking on more student loans to pay for the costs of school rather than increase their work loads. Taking out larger student loans will mean that they have a significant amount of debt once they graduate from college.

Luckily, college graduates have options that are available to them. They may continue to attend school for at least half time and this will allow them to defer repayment while in school. Remember that you will at some point need to start paying off your student loans. If you are currently paying on your student loans and are having difficulty making your monthly payments, then you should consider consolidating your loans.

By using a student loan consolidation, you will be able to pay all of your other loans off with a bigger loan that consolidates them. Loan consolidation can greatly simplify the repayment of your school debts by allowing you to pay just one bill each month instead of many. The big benefit here is that you will pay a lower monthly payment. Paying a lower monthly payment each month can greatly reduce the stress on a person.

An important point to note is that since the person is paying less each month on their student loans, they will end up paying slightly more over the life of their consolidation loan. This happens mainly because you will end up paying your loan over a longer period of time. This means that the balance accrues more interest. If you think about it though, it is better to pay the loan off slowly if you are having difficulty making the regular payments.
